Float / Waggler

Float / waggler

Floatfishing is a popular technique for catching fish. The float floats on the surface of the water and at the crucial moment shows that the fish has taken the bait. This method is especially common among beginners, but not only. It is a simple technique that allows you to get good results in a short time. Fishing floats in the offer of our store are high-quality equipment. Check out the floats available in this category and choose the right equipment for your upcoming trips.

A wide selection of fishing floats for every occasion

Our online fishing store offers the most popular floats, chosen by amateurs and experienced anglers. These include pass-through and fixed floats.
Pass-through floats have an eyelet at the bottom through which the line passes. They are blocked with a rubber stopper. It is also possible to attach the float to a link with a safety pin. On the section of line between the stopper and the load, the float can move freely. With long distance casting in mind, anglers choose wagglers, a special variety of through floats. These models have a load that improves aerodynamics and positively affects the balance of the float.
Depending on your needs and the type of fishery, you can opt for fixed floats. They are firmly attached to the line and there is no need for rubber stops. The float can not move on the line, so this solution is used for hunting so-called "still-feeding" fish. An interesting variety is the live bait float, which comes in several varieties - with a pin and center or classic through. This is the first choice when fishing for zander and pike.
In our offer you will find a wide range of floats in different sizes and colors. They are ideal for fishing, both in still waters and very fast river currents.

How to choose the right float

The choice of float depends primarily on the conditions of the fishery. Fixed fishing floats are used where the depth of the fishery does not exceed the length of the rod. On the other hand, pass-through models can be used at any set ground. When choosing the right model or set of floats, important considerations are:

- The thickness of the antenna. Floats with thicker antennae are easier to spot, but put up more resistance when a fish tries to take the bait. Lower sensitivity may scare off some individuals.
- Antenna color. Depending on the conditions in the fishery, choose appropriate colors. A light-colored antenna is well visible against the trees, which are reflected in the water. A dark antenna, on the other hand, is easier to spot against a background of water that reflects the sky.
- Float displacement. Delicate floats (displacement < 1 g) are equipment for fishing in calm and shallow waters. If you are planning a fishing session in a more challenging fishery, choose a float with a higher displacement. Such an accessory will be more resistant to wind gusts. For live bait floats, the most important selection criterion is the size of the bait fish. Its weight must not sink the float.
- The shape of the float. Fishing in lakes is easier if you have a slender float. On the other hand, a float with a larger body will work well in a river. If the river has a lot of pull, a ball float will be the best choice.
